Our Story
A Family Motel on the Shores of Thunder Bay
Waters Edge Motel has been welcoming guests to the shores of Lake Huron for generations. What started as a small family-run operation has grown into one of Alpena's most beloved lakeside retreats — but we've never lost that personal touch.
We're situated right on Thunder Bay, one of the most beautiful stretches of Lake Huron's western shore. Our guests come for the sandy beaches, the world-class fishing, and the legendary shipwreck diving — and they come back year after year because of the people and the peace they find here.
Northern Michigan summers are something special. The water is clear, the sunsets are unforgettable, and the pace of life slows down in exactly the right way. We'd love to share it with you.
